Allotments

Latest allotment news January 2019

All allotments and poly tunnel plots have now been re-let and we have a waiting list for any plots that become vacant. The Summer House is now open for business and tea and coffee is available for a small donation. Spring is on us and plenty of activity is underway. The first inspection is due around the beginning of May.

MOWER NEWS

Would users please note that it is a 4 stroke machine and uses unleaded petrol from the green can. Please check the oil level and top up with the 4 stroke oil (also available) as and when necessary.

The strimmer uses 2 stroke fuel and this is available in the red can.

USE OF THE WRONG FUEL IN THE WRONG MACHINE WILL RUIN THEM, SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!

Seed Catalogue

Each year seed catalogues are distributed to interested members.

WGA Policy.

Because of the present demand for allotments, in future priority will be  given to Wilsden residents over and above others.

Since 1976, Wilsden has had one of the best kept secrets ever. We have 26 allotments! Some are half plots, so many people are enjoying this facility. Each plot is about 30 x 8 meters. Water is available. There are 2 small huts for tool storage. On one of the huts there is a notice board and inside is a first aid kit.

Mowers, strimmer etc. are available for use by the allotment holders.

The soil is light and easily drains.
Access is open, allotment holders can get a bad back any time!

The present cost of a full allotment is £40 per annum, a bargain compared to some council rates. However there is a waiting list for the allotments, but anyone wanting an allotment should contact Andrew and Debbie Ellison
